Appointments

• Appointments can be made online through the Hot Doc booking system.

• To book an appointment over the phone please call 9581 4400.

• Every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred time. Please note that we have a high volume of patients and appointments are currently difficult to secure. Telephone appointments where suitable are generally available before face to face appointments.

• Emergencies will always be given priority and our reception staff will attempt to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay. Unfortunately this is not always possible. Wait times of up to one hour and sometimes longer have been unavoidable with the current demand.

• Alternately, you can phone the practice to see how your GP is running for time. If you feel your condition is urgent, please notify reception when you are making your appointment or upon arrival at the practice (ie chest pain, difficulty breathing or similar).

• If you require a longer appointment or an appointment for a specific reason, please let reception know at the time of booking.

• Please advise reception you have arrived at the practice before taking a seat.​

 

HOME VISITS

Home visits are rarely offered at Silver Sands GP. Home visits are very time consuming for our doctors, so we would ask you to come to the surgery. It is also much easier to carry out necessary investigation and treatments at the surgery. Due to these factors, any requests for home visits are determined on a case by case basis. However, if your medical condition prevents you from attending the surgery and you do require a home visit, please contact the surgery. Your doctor will then assess whether your request is medically appropriate and logistically feasible and may consider a home visit if required.
